At times Qvinci is unable to connect to QuickBooks. Usually an error of "Cannot Open QuickBooks" means that Qvinci and QuickBooks are running with different user account control permissions. Other than trying to determine and fix which Windows User Account is used when running both QuickBooks and Qvinci (they should be the same), the user can simply right click each application and "Run as Administrator". This ensures that both QuickBooks and Qvinci are using Administrator permissions when opening each application.
If each application is not running on the same user permission level (ie: both as Administrator, etc) then an error message may appear when trying to link or sync the QuickBooks file to Qvinci. An example of that error message is below. This message means that Qvinci cannot connect to QuickBooks (even though QuickBooks is already open) because QuickBooks is open under one Windows User Account (perhaps the Administrator) while Qvinci is open under another Windows User Account.
The fix arrives in a two-part process:
1) The user needs to migrate to their Start menu. Find the Startup folder in the All Programs list. Inside the Startup fold "delete" the Qvinci Sync App. Because the Qvinci Sync App loads as a startup program upon turning on the computer, this means that Qvinci is automatically loading under the default Windows User Account when the computer is turned on. Deleting it from the Startup folder ensures that the user must manually load Qvinci each time they wish to use it.
2) When a user wishes to sync QuickBooks to Qvinci they should always right click each program and "Run as Administrator". This ensures that both programs are opening using the same Windows User Account (the Administrator) so that a "Cannot Open QuickBooks" message does not appear.
